I would be remiss if I did not talk about the Royal Wedding Dress. Upon first look of the dress, I found it be incredibly reminiscent of Princess Grace Kelly's wedding dress. The dress, designed by Sarah Burton from the Alexander McQueen label, was modest and classic, but still stylish. One can only imagine the designers and dressmakers sewing feverishly as I type to duplicate this look. I'm no stylist, but I can only imagine that there will be a swift shift in the opposite direction when it comes to sleeves and wedding dresses, as modern brides of late have preferred strapless dresses.
My genuine thoughts on the dress: I thought it was beautiful and classic, but I felt that it was too much like Princess Grace's dress. I think of Princess Katherine as a stylish young woman, and I was looking for something that was modern and classic at the same time. Is there a term for that? Modern fabric, classic cut or Modern cut with classic fabric. I will say, however, that I though the one detail that made the dress interesting to me was the open neckline. That's the distinct different between her dress and Princess Grace's.
Alright, I've talked about the dress, and now I can move on to other things. . . . .
